After he dominated the academic world by attaining two bachelor's and two master's degrees from Southern Illinois University (a B.A. in Communication, a B.A. in Philosophy, an M.A. in Design Science, and an M.A. in Health), Hansen went on to establish a career full of entrepreneurial success. Once he had found the keys to success, after his own professional ups and downs, Hansen decided to spread the word. He has spent the last 25-plus years helping people improve their lives personally and professionally through his keynote speaking, marketing consulting, and various books.
Hansen has shared his motivational messages with at least 2 million people in about 38 countries. His powerful influence, advice, and challenges lead people from all types of backgrounds to do extraordinary things. A true believer in and example of his saying "You can easily create the life you deserve," Hansen teaches his audiences how to recognize and tackle opportunities.
Once he achieved publishing success, Hansen went on to found the MEGA Book Marketing University and Building Your MEGA Speaking Empire annual conferences.
His dynamic career also won him his title as one of the "Top Ten Greatest Motivational Speakers." Hansen was inducted into the Sales and Marketing Executives International Hall of Fame in 2004 and has received Sales and Marketing Executives' Ambassador of Free Enterprise Award. He was also the recipient of the 2004 Visionary Philanthropist for Youth Award granted by the nonprofit agency Covenant House, among other honors and awards.
Hansen was honored by the University of Toledo in 2002 when it presented him with an honorary Ph.D. in Business Administration and established the Mark Victor Hansen Entrepreneurial Excellence Fund, which provides assistance to the business leaders of tomorrow and those who teach them.
Always striving to help others, Hansen is also very involved with humanitarian organizations like Habitat for Humanity, the American Red Cross, and the March of Dimes.

Hansen's Chicken Soup for the Soul books have been called "the publishing phenomenon of the decade," selling more than 140 million copies globally. In addition to his Chicken Soup for the Soul books, which he co-authored with Jack Canfield, Victor Hansen has written many others, including The Power of Focus: How to Hit Your Business, Personal and Financial Targets with Absolute Certainty, How to Make the Rest of Your Life the Best of Your Life, and The One-Minute Millionaire: The Enlightened Way to Wealth.
