Sales Director Jobs description
A sales director supervises and manages the sales programs of a company. A sales director is responsible for all sales activities, sales departments and sales and marketing personnel of a company.A sales director provides leadership to daily operations of the sales department, establishes sales goals, analyzes sales statistics and monitors and evaluates sales performance. Hiring, training and supervising new sales personnel may also be part of the job. Other duties include penetrating new accounts, achieving sales targets, maintaining relationships with developed accounts, coordinating the assembly of resources to respond to new business opportunities, coordinating sales efforts with different departments and initiating sales strategy.
The minimum educational qualification required for a sales director job is a bachelor’s degree in sales, marketing or similar fields from an accredited college or university. An MBA is also important. Prior experience in sales management is a plus. A successful sales director is highly motivational and exhibits strong leadership, communication, computer and interpersonal skills.
