Media Sales Jobs
Media sales jobs are available in publishing (newspapers, magazines, periodicals, and directories), television networks, radio stations, cable networks etc. The primary responsibility of a media sales person is to sell retail advertising, maximize classified revenue and sell online and display advertising.
Building relationships and growing accounts through marketing and sales skills is an important part of a media sales job. Other duties include sourcing new sales leads, maintaining relationships with key advertisers for pre and post sale follow up and renewal and providing excellent customer service to clients. Selling advertising to businesses and having the ability to prospect and cold call for new clients may also fall under the purview of a media sales job.
To apply for a media sales job, a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institute is desirable. Prior media sales experience is also favorable. Additionally, a successful media sales executive must also exhibit excellent presentation, sales, time management, and negotiation and customer service skills.
