Sales Management Jobs description

Sales management personnel are responsible for the development and performance of all sales activities in assigned markets. A sales management person will have to look after staffing and directing a sales team and providing leadership towards the achievement of maximum profitability and growth in line with companies' vision and values. A sales management person will also have to establish plans and strategies to expand the customer base in the marketing area and contributing in the development of training and educational programs for clients and accounts executives. A sales management person will have to develop a business plan and sales strategy for the market that ensures attainment of company sales goals and profitability. Preparation of action plans by individuals as well as by team for effective search of sales leads and prospects will part of a sales management person's duty.

A master's degree in business administration with sales as special subject would be preferred for most positions. Five or more years of experience in sales management, and strong understanding of customer and market dynamics are mostly required. Intensive traveling may be part of the post.
