Job Description SummaryJob DescriptionDirector, Market Development, Intelliport Digital SolutionsPOSITION SUMMARY / KEY RESPONSIBILITIESThis role is an exciting opportunity for an exceptional leader who has passion for developing markets for new innovative medical technologies. This position is part of Medication Delivery Solutions (MDS), BD’s largest Business Unit with $3.8B in annual revenue.  MDS is comprised of the world leading products needed to safely prepare and administer medication, such as: intravenous catheters, IV sets, connectors, flush syringes, Chloraprep infection prevention products, hazardous drug safety containment items, and hypodermic syringes. MDS is focused on reducing complications, improving patient safety/outcomes, and lowering total cost of care around the world.This position will focus on preparing the market to commercialize the BD Intelliport platform, a key initiative within MDS with visibility to the company CEO.  The BD Intelliport platform is a first-of-its-kind digitally connected device combination aimed at improving medication safety, improving the accuracy of clinical documentation, and improving caregiver efficiency in the operating room.As the Director Market Development for the BD Intelliport platform, you will be responsible for preparing the market to adopt this one of kind technology.  You will identify and develop key opinion leaders, partnership with key societies, as well as creative awareness and trial strategies. You'll partner with the upstream marketing, Sales, Medical Affairs and Marcom teams to ensure effective coordination. In the role, you will oversee the execution of flawless product launch execution, innovative customer engagement programs, and the development of associated education materials and trial programs. You will shape and define the commercial model to drive option of this new product in collaboration with internal stakeholder from sales, marketing and sister BD companies as well as external partners (EMR vendor etc).  Being result-oriented, you take pride meeting/exceeding marketing, financial and corporate growth objectives by working across diverse internal and external teams. You will have a passion for innovation that improves the standard of care and a keen ability to build strong relationship with thought leaders. The role could be will be located at BD’s global headquarters in Franklin Lakes, NJ or near BD’s site in San Diego, CA.  Remote work will be considered as well.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the preparation and execution of the market development and launch activities. Follow a data-driven, metrics-based approach to measure effectiveness of awareness, trial, and adoption marketing tactics to drive plan refinement.Work closely with Upstream Marketing to shape targeting product training approaches and curriculum .Collaborate with other business segments to coordinate strategies and tactics for shared market segments to ensure a superior customer experience and leverage cross selling opportunities.Collaborate with and coordinate the activities of customer-facing teams to ensure alignment & effective execution of market development initiatives.Develop close, productive relationships with the field sales organizations, relevant societies, key opinion leaders, and other hospital system leaders to drive early market adoptionRecruit hospital testing partners and early adopters, establish user groups, and support evidence generation tactics.Develop commercial model to sell and drive adoption of this new innovation leveraging key internal and external partnerships.Participate in the development of the clinical evidence strategy through collaboration with Medical Affairs colleagues. Supports the implementation of clinical studies, registries and educational activities.Work strategically with sales force to create demand, enable sales, increase awareness and drive market share following launch. Develop and execute the clinical evaluation program.Gather market intelligence on market dynamics, competitive information, key practice trends, and clinical data that would impact the business and shape commercial planning.Oversee post-market surveillance strategy and data analysis to deliver a superior customer experience.PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS The successful candidate will have a record of market development or innovative product launch experience made possible through effective collaboration with colleagues, key opinion leaders, medical advisors, ecosystem partners and customers.  S/he should have a demonstrable history of developing and implement strategies, convert these into tactical plans and delivering meaningful results – as measured by data-driven processes. Required Knowledge, Skills and Attributes:Solid understanding of peri-operative clinical practice, including Epic and Cerner EHRsExperience launching software into healthcare environment.Hunter mentality with experience commercializing new to world technologiesConsistently pushes self and others to achieve challenging goals with a track record of executional successesHighly effective interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence with the talent to foster strong relationships with KOLs, hospital stakeholders, and ecosystem partnersAbility to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
