SUMMARY:

The Senior Manager Continuous Improvement is responsible to lead the implementation of a world class cultural transformation and instill the lean leader mindset throughout the Tyson family. This requires the ability to drive change and monetary improvements using lean tools in a team environment. Also required is the development and adherence to TPS guidelines; developing supporting training materials and delivering training to team members on fundamentals; managing and administering initiatives timelines and deployment plans. Most importantly this role will support the overall CI improvement objectives by coaching and developing a problem-solving culture at all levels of the organization. This position will strategically lead and coordinate the implementation of the Tyson Productivity System (TPS) within the designated business areas in which they are assigned; to include the entire corporate enterprise and operational environments from order to cash processes. This will encompass core business transactional improvements as well as production systems, manufacturing plants, distribution centers, and extended supply base. Another key component of this role is to develop a lean roadmap with specified tools and timing. This will involve assessing the baseline level adherence to those lean principles by plant and division. The Senior Manager will instruct lead implementation initiatives to sustainably improve operational metrics. The improvements need to be demonstrable and replicated across the division; to drive expected lean implementation results at the speed of success. Communication is a key responsibility of this role to ensure all levels of the organization are advised and informed on plant and divisional progress to specified milestones. This requires leading and coaching both business professionals and subsequent business partners on how to develop objectives and establish the lean culture. The selected individual will openly and effectively communicate continuous improvement to the organization. They will build credibility through relationships and provide leadership to the overall CI program.

Additional Responsibilities: Partner with Operation Directors, Plant Managers, Support Functions, and Business Unit teams to own and deliver Tyson's annual commitments; develop top talent and assist to develop succession plans for the CI team; act as direct point of contact during the deployment roll-out of new systems; ensure that all work activities are performed in accordance with established safety environmental and General Manufacturing Principles; deploy strategies and programs that improve the productivity and efficiency of the various work processes of the company; partner with plant corporate controllers to develop baseline financial metrics to document savings and profit results of identified lean projects initiatives; other direction as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Bachelor's degree preferred; Degrees in Engineering, Meat Science, Animal Science, or Operations Management are beneficial.

Experience: 7 plus years' experience in Operations, Sales, Marketing or Shared Services; experience in Lean Manufacturing, Change Management or Relationship Management preferred. Minimum certified Greenbelt a plus. Must demonstrate a knowledge of and commitment to lean manufacturing principles and techniques.

Computer Skills: Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite. SAP experience preferred. Minitab or other statistical software experience preferred. Demonstrated ability to learn new systems and organize significant amounts of information in a professional manner is preferred.

Communication Skills: Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills are required.

Special Skills: Project management experience preferred; strong business acumen; expert level LEAN skills; strong process management background; strong coaching/mentoring skills; ability to effectively engage and influence others at all levels of the business; Six Sigma certification: green belt/black belt with the ability to use statistical software.

Travel: Up to 90%
