Overall Purpose: This overlay sales or specialist sales position manages, directs and supervises a team of overlay/specialists sellers which have responsibility for selling complex, emerging technical products, applications and/or services. Key Roles and Responsibilities: This position supervises individual contributors and/or supervisors with approved elevated pricing based on product specialization. Directs and supervises a team who generates sales and supports the sales efforts of others leveraging product, industry, and / or technology expertise. Manages and coordinates the sales and technical teams in support of the sale of the companys products. May also be called on as a technical product expert to develop and present sales proposals and systems solutions. May be called in to support or close a sale by account- assigned Account Managers or may identify and close additional opportunities in cooperation with assigned account manager. Strong technical background. Works with multiple levels of management throughout the organization. Excellent knowledge of the field with strong leadership skills. Resolves critical issues and contributes to business unit / area development. Typically manages the work efforts of Supervisors with responsibility for hiring, firing, performance appraisals, and pay reviews. Experience: Typically requires 10 or more years of experience and at least two years of management responsibility. Education: Bachelors or Advanced degree preferred. Supervisory: Yes.
